Welcome, everyone!

As we continue to grow and evolve, so too does our annual celebration!

This year's 6th Annual New Paltz Hoopla celebration is a 2-Day event with both days offering different opportunities to come together as a community, share some sweetness and smiles, and provide important information about local resources.

*We are very sorry to say that due to unforeseen circumstance, the Holiday Hoopla Parade will not take place this year. We appreciate your understanding and are excited to bring it back next year bigger, brighter, and better than ever!

Saturday, December 6th:

Merriment & More is taking place from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at Elting Memorial Library, located at 93 Main Street in New Paltz. The Elting Memorial Library is sponsoring this special story time with author, wildlife rehabilitator, and educator, Ellen Kalish (and friends). Ellen will be reading her book entitled, The Christmas Owl, and will be accompanied by a few of her owl friends. A yummy gourmet hot chocolate bar and other goodies will be available in the Steinberg Room at the library.

Saturday, December 13th: The annual fun-filled Winter Carnival will take place at Historic Huguenot Street from 12:00pm – 3:00pm with DJ Jay Smooth, special performances by the New Paltz Caroling Choir and the New Paltz Middle School Band, numerous free children’s activities, holiday dog costume contest, food trucks, the Little Brays of Sunshine, outdoor carnival games, and more! The rain/snow date for this event is Sunday, December 14th.

The Town of New Paltz’s Office for Community Wellness is proud to offer these free community events in conjunction with Elting Memorial Library, Historic Huguenot Street, the New Paltz Police Department, New Paltz Rotary, and the New Paltz Youth Program.

The Office for Community Wellness extends its gratitude to New Paltz Rotary, Elting Memorial Library, Historic Huguenot Street, New Paltz Police Department, and the New Paltz Youth Program for all of their contributions and financial support.
