Town of New Paltz - Office for Community Wellness
The Office for Community Wellness (OCW) is is a unique department within the municipality of the Town of New Paltz. It originated in January of 2017 upon the completion of a federal Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant in order to continue meeting the needs of the community related to behavioral health and wellbeing.

As such, the primary focus of the OCW is to address local needs and conditions related to mental health, substance use and addiction, suicide, connectivity, and social support.

Thriving Together New Paltz is comprised of many different initiatives, activities, and events coordinated by the OCW that adhere to four (4) national evidence-based prevention strategies:

The OCW works with approximately 100 community partners, individuals, and organizations within New Paltz, Ulster County, the Mid-Hudson Region, and New York State that represent 12 sectors within the community:
